Please view http://www.texasairsoft.org/forums/showthread.php?t=1759 to get up to speed. This is regarding shotgun chrono rules.

Proposal on the table:
All shotguns allowed, spring or gas, 6 mm or 8 mm. Must CHRONO with 1 BB loaded, even if it fires multiple BBs. Must chrono no more than 1.13J (equivalent to 315fps with .25g BB) whether gas or spring, 6 mm or 8 mm, may be used inside or outside.

If you have any thoughts, please feel free to comment.

I don't see any sort of problem with this. The Shotgun is a weapon no one here really has though. I suppose, if I owned one, this might make some difference in making my choice.

True; however, you never know when you will end up in CQB at the wrong end of one. Wink

I saw quite a few Shotguns at DVII. Though I don't think anyone ever encountered quite the CQB environment they are concerned about, I.e. the Killhouse which has several small adjoining rooms as opposed to the buildings in the City which are essentially one large room each, the growing popularity of these weapons necessitates the setting of limits and guidelines now.

I've thought about buying a shotgun for quite some time and I'm still considering it.

This, however, discourages me. The TASO FPS limit is only met by two or three manufacturers and eighty percent of those shotguns are of dubious quality. The only other shotguns that meet the limit and are worth a darn cost about as much as a real steel shotgun.

The vote has passed. TASO ROE will reflect the changes.
